Cyclingnews revealed today that Team Sky boss Dave Brailsford is under pressure to resign from his own riders. The website was informed by an unnamed source that they have been having discussions about whether they should ask him to step down.
This follows the revelation last week that there was no record of drugs and medication that Dr Richard Freeman administered to the team and Bradley Wiggins. A Team Sky rider told Cyclingnews, “There is concern over the impact that this may have on the current season and the distraction it is all causing for Dave Brailsford and the other management.”
Earlier this year Chris Froome said that serious questions regarding the medical package delivered to Bradley Wiggins after the 2011 Dauphine needed to be answered. Following the British Parliamentary Committee’s investigations it would appear that the same questions remain. In fact, Chair of the Committee, Damian Collins MP has said, “I think that people’s faith will be challenged if there’s no records.”
