Eroica Britannia announced this week that its tickets are selling like hot cakes since they became available on 23rd November. The award-winning vintage bike festival and ride has moved from its home in Bakewell in Derbyshire to nearby green and pleasant farmland surrounding Friden Grange enabling riders to take full advantage of The High Peak Trail and to expand all three ride routes. Get 16 - 18th June etched into your diaries now!
2016 saw an impressive 4,500 riders take part on pre 1987 bikes and next year demand will exceed supply as the organisers will not be increasing ride numbers. As well as three ride lengths of 100, 55 and 25 miles which meet all ranges of abilities and ambitions, new features have been added to the festival.
2016 saw 40,000 visit the festival site who enjoyed favourites like Best in Show judged by Chris Boardman and BBC’s Patrick Grant, live music, an incredible bike jumble, numerous stalls and some delicious food. Eroica 2017 promises even more with a headline music act on Saturday 17th June.
There will also be a Glow Ride on the trails after dark, a new Family Ride, and a festival area called the Inner Tube which will include inspirational cycling feats. The organisers have also introduced The Grove for those of you who would like to glamp up your experience in the boutique camping area.
You can book your place now on their website. Tickets for the ride are priced at £65 which includes food and drink on the ride day as well as 3-day entry to the festival.
