Cycling 'lifestyle' brand Rapha, yesterday announced it was selling a majority stake to a company set up by the grandsons of Walmart founder Sam Walton. Surprisingly, the upmarket cycling apparel retailer is being bought by the heirs of the supermarket chain known to 'pile it high, watch it fly'.
Rapha, whose jerseys start at £75, have agreed the sale for a reported £200million. Best known for their recent partnership with Team Sky, clothing the likes of Chris Froome, the company currently has a turnover of £67 million a year.

Sir Chris Hoy announced this week that he is planning to cycle 400 miles across Antarctica to the South Pole. The journey will be 400 miles long and he will have to overcome snow drifts, deep crevasses and a 3,000m mountain range in sub zero temperatures. He aims to beat the current record of 10 days.

Three time Tour de France winner Chris Froome posted a tweet this morning saying that he had been 'rammed on purpose by an impatient driver' while out for a training ride in France. He says that he is okay although his rather expensive bike has been badly damaged or 'totaled' as he put it. The driver kept going and did not stop.
