UK's first Gravel Enduro Sportive in August

This August sees the launch of a brand new exciting cycling event in Yorkshire called The Aggregate 100. This is billed as the first Gravel Enduro on UK soil and is a shoot off from Cyclo Cross as riders tackle the rough terrain on racing bikes with disc brakes and thick tyres.

It’s seen as “a less serious longer version of a cross bike ride with a few hard fast sections thrown in for good measure.” You can use any bike you like but the organizers recommend that it’s equipped with at least 30mm tyres.

The race is made up of several stages going around a 100km loop through North Yorkshire. Setting off from Cropton, then out onto Rudland Rigg, then climbing Blakey Bank, it uses tracks and disused railway lines to test the riders stamina and technical riding skills. There are four timed race segments from which your aggregate time will be calculated. You can race solo or enter with a partner.

The event is based around the New Inn in Cropton where there is camping, entertainment, brewery tours and even a dog show, all taking place on 6th and 7th August. Enter by going to the Aggregate 100 website.
