Gareth’s new image for Milan-San Remo is inspired by the freezing conditions and heavy snowfall of the 2013 edition when only half the field finished. At one point the organisers neutralised the race and riders were ordered to board team buses and transported to a restart point.
Sylvain Chavanel, who finished fourth that year, said, “I think all of the riders that finished are a little bit heroic. The conditions were really extreme.”
The two other new designs to our Monuments collection are Liege-Bastogne-Liege, known as La Doyenne (The Old Lady) and Il Lombardia, the romantic classic, also known as “La Classica della foglie morte” (Ride of the falling leaves). With Paris-Roubaix and the Tour of Flanders we now have the full collection
