See the Ride Velo Top 10 award winners from the NEC's Cycle Show 2015...
There were so many great bikes at this year's cycle show, but there could only be one winner in the road bike category (well two actually - one for men and one for women). The top men's bike as voted for by Ride Velo is the De Rosa SK Ultegra 11 speed RRP from £3,499 distributed by i-Ride.
The women's road bike award had to go to Bianchi for its stunning Infinito CV Dama Bianca although Ride Velo commended the whole Dama range very highly.
The Best Urban Bike (and also our unanimous Best In Show) was Pinarello's new 2016 aluminium single speed/flip lop/fixie Lungavita RRP £950 available from the bike rooms later this year.
The best value bike range was awarded to Foffa Bikes for their beautiful urban bicycles designed by another Italian, Dani Foffa himself. Retailing from just £374.99, we think they're excellent value for money, and if you click on our link you'll get another 5% off!
Not entirely Italian this time, just an Italian name, Ride Velo voted the lovely guys at Bicicielo (or Bicycle Heaven in English) as having the Best Bike Shop represented at the Cycle Show this year. They are Birmingham locals and specialise in retailing Pinarellos.
Absolutely nothing to do with Italy at all, Ride Velo loved Light Blue cycles from Cambridge who won our most delightful Classic Brand award. Launching in November, town and gown alike will love these traditional bikes which come with free membership and annual dinners with the Light Blue club!
Back to Bianchi for our best Road Apparel award for men's cycle wear - we love their traditional style. For the girls, there was no contest as the quality and design of the Cafe du Cycliste range beat all the other manufacturers hands down. The Francine jersey is classically stylish and a personal favourite.
Our favourite Urban Cycle Wear exhibitor at the Cycle Show was Fox Wilson from Orro Bikes. This technical clothing is inspired by equestrian design and features jodhpurs for cycling as well as water-resistant jeans and chinos. We're looking forward to the full range being on sale later in the year.
To wear with your urban cycling jodhpurs... the Best Cycle T-shirt award goes to grn, the ethical, green sportswear company who manufacture their clothing from sustainable bamboo, plastic bottles and even fishing nets! Ride Velo thought their range of Yorkshire-born cyclist tees, including Jarvis Cocker pictured here, was a well-deserved winner in this category.
The Helmet award goes to Torch for their innovative light-up lid. Retailing at £90 this is a must-buy as the nights draw in. It may not have won funding on Dragon's Den, but Ride Velo were happy to buy one at the show. We recommend you do too.
And finally, the Most Innovative Exhibitor has to go to Drops. This company manufacture wallpaper to colour in or buy, they also design exhibition spaces and had a hand in Bianchi's stand. They also sell cycling images and have recently launched their own women's road cycling team. Go team Drops!
